'THE ASSOCIATED FRIENDS OF THE CONSTITUTION AND OF THE PEOPLE.'
Lieutenant Colonel DALRYMPLE of Fordel, was elected President, THOMAS MUIR, Esq; younger, of Huntershill, Advocate, Vice President, GEORGE CRAWFORD, writer in Glasgow, Secretary.
The following resolutions were then agreed to:
Resolved,
To co-operate with the Association of the Friends of the People in London, in all proper measures to accomplish an equal Representation of the People in Parliament.
Resolved,
To enter into every legal and constitutional measure to obtain a shorter duration of Parliamentary Delegation.
Resolved,
That none shall be admitted Members of this Society who do subscribe their concurrence to the two preceding Resolutions,
Resolved,
That these Resolutions, forming the primary objects of our Association, be printed in the Scotch and English newspapers.
Resolved,
That the Thanks of this meeting are due to the Gentlemen who have acted upon the occasion, as our Presidents and Secretary.
